As a little girl my family spent the summers in upstate New York at a bungalow colony. I really have the most wonderful memories of those years! A big part of our summer was picking huckleberries with my grandmother! What a treat that was! We would go in the morning and come back late in the day. We made everything blueberry! Blueberry jam and blueberry pie, blueberry cobbler blueberry cake. We learned how to freeze blueberries so we could use them all year long.
What could be a better way to remember my grandmother than making a blueberry cake at the end of October! Although I don’t go blueberry picking anymore it seems our local grocery has a great picking of blueberries but the memories are still the same.
